Using
a browser such as Internet Explorer, click on the link and "save as"
then pick a folder to save it in.
Remember this location so you can run install.

If you
have a previous version installed, remove it using the Add/Remove Programs function in your control panel.

Go to the directory where you saved the install file and run ierassetupproXXX.exe or ierassetupstdXXX.exe

Starting and Shutting Down Internet Eraser
Once you have installed the Internet Eraser program. Look for this small icon right next to the clock on your taskbar. You will be able to open and close the program using this icon. To open right click with your mouse and select the "Show Window" option. To close you also right click with your mouse and select the "Exit " option. To run again after exit double click desktop or start menu icon. You also have a "Basic Clean" and "Clean & Reboot" option to clean with current settings. These function same as buttons on the Main tab.

This Main Tab has four buttons. It is recommended that you realize what settings are set before attempting any cleaning.
Basic Clean - This option will clean your system
with the options you have selected. If you have selected option that require
a reboot, you will be notified at the the end of the clean process. Some
option will not be finished until you reboot you computer.
Clean & Reboot - This option will clean your
system with the options you have selected and then reboot your computer to
finish the clean process.
Recommendation - We recommend that you do not have
any programs running when doing a clean. Your browser and/or programs may
lock files that that need to be cleaned.
Check For Upgrade - You will also find buttons to
make sure you have the current version (upgrades are FREE).
Help - This will load the Help.
NOTE: In order for some setting to stay erased, erase with browser closed.

You can customize Internet Eraser to be active when ever you would like it to be. Using the Scheduler tab, you can pick and choose when you would like it to run. As you can see there are many options as to when you can run Internet Eraser. This allows you to customize the program to run when you need it to the most.
Use Program Autorun - Use this option to have
Internet Eraser clean your system at selected intervals automatically.
Run when Windows Starts - Use this option to have
Internet Eraser start up with your system. This will not do a clean, it will
only open the program.
Clean when Windows Closes - Use this option to have
Internet Eraser clean your system each time you reboot or shut your computer
down.
Start Program Minimized - Use this option to
have Internet Eraser start in the system tray, next to your time display.
Start in Stealth Mode - Use this option to have Internet Eraser start in Stealth Mode. Stealth mode Hides the program from view, but it is still running. Use "Ctrl + Alt + H" to enter and exit Stealth Mode.

Erase Windows Swap File - This file is used by windows to increase your available memory. Lots of different data can be stored here. This option requires a system reboot to effectively clean the data. Windows will recreate the file as needed.
Erase Registry Backups - Your Windows system makes regular backup for your Registry. Even after we clean your registry of information, that information may still be available in your backup files. This is a recommended option.
Erase Temp Directories - Your Windows system uses this directory to store temporary program data. This does not always get deleted and can waste a lot of hard drive space. This is a recommended option.
Erase Application Logs - Windows keeps track of when you run your programs. Use this option to delete these records.
Erase Common Dialog History - Last Visited - Most Programs use the same dialog window to OPEN/SAVE your files. Use this option to erase the history list of these dialog windows.

Erase Clipboard Memory - When you copy anything using the windows copy command, the information is stored in memory. Use this option the erase the data.
Erase Run Program History - When you select START/RUN and select an application to run, windows keeps a record of all the programs selected/run. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Find Computers History - When you search for a computer on the network, windows keeps a record of all computers searched for. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Find File History - When you search for files on your computer, windows keeps a record of all files searched for. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Recent Document List - Windows keeps track of all files you have opened. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Recycle Bin Files - Windows keeps track of all files you have deleted. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Website Cookies - Some websites use "Cookies" to track your access to their servers. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Temporary Internet Files - Your browser stores copies of all the pages you visit when you are surfing the internet. These file can take up a lot of space. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Visited Websites
History - Your browser keeps track
of all websites you have visited. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Stored Typed URLs - Your browser keeps track of all URLS that you type into your browser. This is not the same as Auto-Complete URLS, you must click on the down arrow in your browsers location field to these URLS. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Auto-Complete Form Data - When you are viewing a website with a form on it, if you try to enter data into the fields, windows will try to "guess" what data you want to enter. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Auto-Complete Password Data - When you are viewing a website with a form on it, if you try to enter data into the fields, windows will try to "guess" what password you want to enter. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Auto-Complete URL Information - When you type a URL into the location bar of your browser, windows will try to "guess" what URL you want to enter. Use this option to erase this data.
Erase Website Cookies - Some websites use "Cookies" to track your access to their servers. Use this option to erase this data.

Auto Check Home Page - Very simply put, this option will make sure that at no time will any site or program be able to change your home page. If your home page is changed Internet Eraser will restore to this setting when run manually or by schedule.
Set Home Page To - Provides a place to enter your custom preference home page URL.

Overwrite Data Type - Specifies what will be used to overwrite files that are bleached.
Number of Times To Overwrite File - Lets you choose how many times a file is bleached.

Directory Bleach Tab
(This option is only available in the Pro version)
This option will allow you to make all files in a directory unreadable even if recovered through a recovery tool. This option will only run once you have set it up to do so. First you will need to add the directory that you wish to clean by clicking the Add button. The small window that you see to the bottom right will then be displayed. From this window you can choose the directories on your computer that you wish to clean. Once you have selected all the directories and they are displayed and the check box is selected next to them, you can click the "Bleach Now" button. You can also uncheck the box next to an added directory to temporarily disable the bleach function of that one item without completely removing the added directory. For your protection, you must use the bleach now button to erase this data, it will not happen when doing a system clean.

Misc. | File
Shredder Tab
(This option is only available in the Pro version)
Use this
option to delete selected files from your system. Use Windows Exlporer to Drag
and Drop files on to the shredder.
NOTE:
This will eliminate
the need for even removing these items from your Recycle Bin.
